INTRODUCTION

Welcome to our project's page!

At SISERA Greece, we recognize that art is not only a form of expression but also a valuable tool for learning and personal growth. As a non-profit organization focused on education, social, and cultural issues, we work to use art in ways that benefit both individuals and the broader community.

Art has always been a part of human culture, influencing values, behavior, and social needs. However, today’s rapidly changing social, political, and cultural environment means we need to keep updating the skills and knowledge of our members and volunteers. Our aim is to improve their understanding of how art can be used in education and expand our artistic activities locally and internationally.

Through art, people can improve their creativity, focus, memory, and cognitive abilities. Art education doesn’t just build technical skills—it also helps people improve communication, develop empathy, and build self-confidence. It is a key part of shaping a sense of shared cultural identity and values, and it supports social bonds while opening up new opportunities, especially for young people.

By working with local and international partners, such as schools, museums, and other cultural institutions, we aim to grow our reach and impact. Training our members in art-related fields helps us achieve higher standards in our projects, while also creating opportunities for growth in creative industries.

Art provides joy, gives people an outlet for emotions, and helps them release the stress of daily life. It can even be used in therapeutic settings to support those with special learning needs. For these reasons, we see the continued education of our members in art as essential—not just for their own development, but also for the benefit of those they serve.

Main topics

Project Overview

This project aims to use art as a method for both personal and professional growth, offering courses and training sessions to equip participants with skills that can be applied in everyday life, education, and professional environments. By integrating both traditional and modern art forms, the project seeks to explore the value of art in developing creativity, emotional intelligence, and communication skills. The project will consist of four key activities, organized quarterly over the course of the project:

Art and Digital Tools

Training focused on combining traditional arts (like drawing, painting, and photography) with modern digital tools to create interactive learning environments. Participants will explore how to apply these techniques in educational and professional settings.

Performing Arts for Communication

This activity will use performance techniques such as theater, role-play, and storytelling to improve communication skills. The training will also address how to manage conflicts and foster collaboration using creative, art-based methods.

Art as Therapy

Participants will learn how to use art for therapeutic purposes, particularly in supporting individuals with special needs. The focus will be on fostering emotional and cognitive growth through creative expression and specialized techniques.

Teaching Through Art

This training will explore how to integrate art into teaching various subjects. Participants will develop lesson plans that incorporate art across different disciplines, using it as a tool to enhance learning outcomes in both formal and informal education.

Enhancing Life Skills Through the Digital Use of Art

This objective focuses on developing key life skills—such as creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication—among younger members of the organization. By integrating modern digital tools with art, participants will gain innovative approaches to learning and self-expression, while also creating art with lasting impact that can be easily shared and adapted.

Strengthening Communication and Conflict Resolution Skills through Performing Arts Methods

This objective aims to enhance communication and conflict resolution skills by using techniques from the performing arts. Participants will explore methods such as active listening, emotional intelligence, and creative collaboration to improve internal teamwork and develop strategies for effective communication. These skills will also be applied to foster positive, inclusive learning environments and manage conflicts constructively.

Gaining Knowledge to Enhance Inclusion of Individuals with Special Needs Through Art

This objective focuses on equipping participants with the knowledge and skills to support the inclusion of individuals with special needs through art. By learning specialized techniques for engaging people with autism, attention disorders, and learning difficulties, the team will develop effective approaches for designing inclusive and accessible artistic activities. Art is chosen for its therapeutic potential, allowing the organization to provide equal opportunities and foster greater inclusion in its programs.

Utilizing Art as a Learning Tool in Formal and Informal Education for Lifelong Learning Practices

This objective aims to integrate art as a teaching tool in both formal and informal education settings, promoting lifelong learning. By training members and volunteers in how to incorporate art into various subjects, the organization seeks to expand its cultural activities and highlight the importance of art in everyday practices. Participants will engage in hands-on experiences to understand the value of art and create interdisciplinary lesson plans that connect artistic expression with other fields of knowledge.

Learning Outcomes:

Through participation in these activities, learners will:

Gain skills in blending traditional art forms with digital tools to create innovative educational materials.

Develop the ability to use performing arts to enhance communication, resolve conflicts, and create inclusive learning environments.

Learn how to apply therapeutic art techniques to support individuals with special learning needs.

Understand how to integrate art into interdisciplinary teaching to improve educational outcomes.
